Why I am taking French:

My mother, grandmother, sister and grandfather are very fluent in French. Since I have heard it growing up, I thought now would be the best opportunity to take the language and finally understand what they have been speaking. My relatives overseas are also very prominent French speakers, and I wanted to be able to finally speak to them, since they only know broken English. My French cousins have always wanted me to stay at their house(s) alone, and have me go on a 2-3 week journey all by myself, but they only speak French, and I realized that if I follow through with these courses, I will finally be able to go on that vacation to France. Besides, French is what certain 'experts' call a romantic language, and who doesn't want to be able to speak romantically? Being in French gives me the opportunities to speak and understand the French that I never understood; all throughout my childhood up to the present, my grandmother and mom only spoke French to each other- the stuff they didn't want me to hear. Since my mom and grandmother only have three common languages (French, Spanish and English,) now would be a great opportunity to learn French and understand what they've been saying, since I already know Spanish and English.
